I do apologise as this has probably been asked many times before, but i would like to ask people's opinion.

i curently own a mk5a 1.6 cvh carb, which do people think would be my best option?

1) fitting a 2.0l zetec from a mondeo. allot of work i know and i would need help collecting more detaild on this. i quite like the sound of this option but do not have the space to do this conversion my self as i don't have a drive or garage.

2) re-building my curent engine / gearbox. it has done 149000 miles and never had a major re-build but does have a full service history.

3) something else.

i like the 2.0 litre zetec option myself, and would be capable of doing this myself with a bit of asistance, but don't have the space. and as such would have to get it done at a garage. The same applies to the 2nd option really, as i also woulden't have the space to do it.

Does anyone know how much these options are likely to cost? or am i better off just getting an escort with e zetec already fitted?

My car was registered in 92 and as such does not have a cat fitted, so i would prefer not to upgrade the car if at all possible.

any help or advice would be apreciated.
