hi its a long shot but is your imrc working ok as if its jammed closed i think this will make it run ritch and on a lot of ford st cars they fail speaking from experience im about to foot the bill to fix mine on the focus st just a thought mate ?

Did you get the cat hot enough?
Just running it up on the ramp isnt always enough.try blipping the throttle at 4-5000rpm for a minute or so to inject raw fuel into the cat which burns in there and gets the cat very hot.

wont be running imrc as its a 2.0 16v silver top zetec
the car was driven hard all the way up to work which is about 21 miles way
made no difference also tried some super unleaded to still made no difference

Do you have a K&N filter ?, if so clean the maf, the wire/s get contaminated by the oil used in the filters and stuffs up the co, if not I would check the switching speed of the lambda.

these mondys are always close to the limit on co for some reason, 1 i owned about 2 years ago only just made it through. surely that high flow cat wont be helping as the car is a year older now

tarmac terriost 03-11-2009 05:36 PM

lambda test is ok and working fine
have cleaned maf and air filter

turned out to be my highflow cat had failed, so a new has been fitted with a new flex pipe and the car is back on the road with full mot for 12months so iam really happy about that .
thanks to any one who posted on this topic !!!
