Default Fuel drinking problem

Hi guys dont know if you could help me but i have noticed over the past 2 weeks that my mk5 xr3i has just been drinking so much petrol and im not really to sure why. I havent been driving with a heavy foot so i know thats not the problem. And im not doing any different journeys to any other times. If anyone has similar problems or can help that would be great.

Look at usual stuff first, air filter clogged, lambda gone potty so running rich, see what the plugs are like and then look for any fuel leaks.
