bmw e36 m3 oil leak... help!
Hi people,
I've only had my car a couple of weeks and unfortunately I seem to have a leak.
The only problem is, I can't seem to find where. I know that there is oil all over the
lower left housing, air con??? I think - see picture, notice the two drips
but other than the drips on the floor, I can't seem to find where the oil is coming from.
The front of the vanos is clean, although the top left allen key bolt, had oil underneath it
(maybe done up too tight, or not tight enough) but I don't think it could be coming from there.
(The round allen bolt on the left, underneath where the semi circle is, was the oil...)
There does seem to be a lot of oil and muck on top of the hose that runs underneath
the vanos, perhaps its the seal(grommet) underneath, where the wires go into the unit...
There is also a lot of oil and muck on the left fan shroud...
It doesn't seem to be coming out with the engine running, only when its been left.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this really isn't the start I wanted to M3 ownership.
Trying to look on the bright side though!

its all about the 5 pot
Mine had an oil leak i traced to the oil control valve, its underneith the exhaust manifold, easyish job on a ramp. Easiest thing to do first is get it all washed off with a jet wash, and trace it from scratch.
