alternative options

are there any other alternative options than dropping a 2.0 silvertop into my 1.6 escort i.e could the 1.8 head pop on any other ideas welcome looking for cost effective option to give me about 130+ brake?
cheers.

Is your 1.6 a zetec already or the old CVH?

I'd say in the long run a total engine conversion would be more cost effective. You could probably buy an old 2.0 Mondeo whole from the free-ads for a couple of hundred quid, rob all the bits out including the management and scrap the rest.

this was to be honest what im leaning to just a little concerned about the ecu weather its a straight swap for mine after changing all the pins around. i have got a guide printed off for this explaining in detail how to do it. just want to know what ecu is in mine cus all this pats stuff is confusing lol. mine is a w reg escort 1.6 zetec and i think its mk7 if that helps. is there anywhere in the midlands that can do the conversion for me if i supply all parts and strip everything that isnt needed to limit labour time apart from pj motorsport? as time isnt something i have much of.

They are highly recommended by anyone that's ever dealt with them mate :top:

Karl tuned an RS I had years ago when he was still doing it from home [I believe they have a fully kitted out workspace now where they can do just about anything you want including paint] and he really really knows his stuff. :top: :top:

If I lived in that part of the world he would be my first port of call for all my cars :top: :top:
