WANTED - cheap but useable lappy!
Anyone got anything around the £50-£100 mark?
It doesn't have to be the lates thing, all singing all dancing, and with my budget it won't be!
I'm just looking for a simple, half decne tlappy I can use to surf the web wirelessly, stream MP3's from my server generally mess around on - no gaming spec, no HD video spec, nothing special - so long as it can run XP and WMP11 and connect to my server to play the music on it, then it's cool!
Needs to be wifi ready, bluetooth a bonus - not a must tho, and have at least a couple hours battery life...
Widescreen would be cool, but happy with anything really.... Dell preferred, but anything considered. P3, P4, etc. Not too fussed on HDD size, most of my stuff is on my server anyway, only be local programmes on the lappy drive, PSU/charger a MUST!!!!
None of these horrible Tosh things tho with the mouse "nipple" - god I hate them! I want a touch pad and real buttons! lol....
Anyone got anything they are upgrading from or don't use anymore? Will stretch to £100 all in (max) for the right one, ideally want to pay less for it cos it'll barely get used - it's only for when I am lounging around the house (and don't wanna be sat upstairs on my main rig in this stuffy weather, and for chilling in the garden really......

EXACTLY my point! I know a fair bit about PC's and lappy's, and I know whats what when it comes to processors, ram etc, so I ain't paying £150 for an intel celeron M with 256mb ram and a 10gb HDD But seems most people on ebay have no fucking clue and bid all the shit up cos it looks nice or has a well known branded name

have a look at the Asus eepc, great lappys and available for an awesome price if you buy from the US.. solid state storage as well and enough power unless you install windows bloatware on it
mega portable as well
