Default 1990 Ford 2005 Stereo Advice

Hi all,
Just bought another RS with a standard Ford stereo fitted and all working as it should do, I think its model 2005 but will have to double check. Not got a problem with it as such but going through all of the paperwork I can't find the code for the radio should I ever take the battery off.......is there a way of getting the code up on the screen as it is now in its working condition so that I can write it down for future reference? Can Ford do this?
Thanks

I sure there are people on ebay or the Internet that can get you code. I think you just give them a serial off the radio.

Yeah I gathered that but I just wondered as the code is obviously in the stereo now as if works......is there a way of seeing it whilst it is still active or do I just wait till I have to remove the battery for a reason then end up going about it the hard way?
