Lego technic, who's into it?

Just brought my first model, got the excavator, and the motor to power it. I ordered it online so hoping to build it up soon. I assume you build the motor into it while u assemble it? Any help would be good. Also post your pics guys!!

lego technic is MUCH more complicated now than it used to be years ago

especially when you consider the lengths they go to to produce specific parts for one particular model

this little tiddler is what i got for junior for christmas and it's ace :)

Look in the model section on here I put a thread up about Lego technics a few months ago.

But yeh I like it myself. Its just a bit dear to buy.

it is a bit pricey now glenn, that's for sure

but i bought from germany and it was cheaper to buy and ship than the shop prices here in the uk

I had and have still got the car chassis kit from the early 80's

Loved that back when I was ten. Even then it had working suspenion, a flat 4 engine with working pistons, a 2 speed gearbox (although I remember modding it to a three speed), rack and pinion steering and adjustable seats!

I love LEGO

I used to think that when I grew up I could have all the lego's I could want...but those buggers are still damn expensive and the bigger toys drain me dry :(
Technics Unimog would be awesome though, maybe some day yet.

Yeh its a fortune. I would have loads if I could afford it.

i had that too!!!!!!

lost most of the bits though :( but it taught me well when we were doing physics and had to build a universal joint out of lego technic in the first year of high school and then work out how a differential worked, again, using lego

i was the MAN!!!!!!!

thing is though, lego tends to hold it's value after a few years and then some sets skyrocket

i've got an imperial star destroyer that's on ebay for something like £800 :shocked:

Was over my mums today and she told me she found some of my Technic in the loft. I bought it home with me as my boy will love it. He's only 3 so I'll get to build it and he can play with it. He loves the mechanics of toys rather than a plain rigid toy.
