Default Boncaster insurance through the RSOC

Hi guys insurance renewal time is creeping up again and looking to see if i can insure both cars for the year (my daily and RST) do you know if Boncaster is worth paying to join the RSOC to get insurance with them?, if not does anyone know anyone who does multicar or classic policies for modded RSTs?

Cars, company's and quotes would be good

Thanks lads

Don't think they do multicar and when I was with them they still wanted ncb and wouldn't do a classic policy like others. I used Peter D james ltd but now they don't do cosworths which is a shame as they was very good and far cheaper than boncaster.

The problem with multicar policies is they don't do modified which tbh is silly idea as most people have a normal car, wifes car and a toy which is usually modded. Not 3 std saxos

Im with need to insure, but they havent impressed me, they cover my rs turbo for £700 which isnt that cheap, i swapped the policie to my focus 2.0 (standard) and that was also £700, i said how can a standard focus be the same as a highly modded fiesta running a zetec with a turbo, their reply was they dont like standard cars?!......

All mine are insured with Boncaster on a multi-car policy.
But they are all on limited mileage.
Not used as daily drivers tho, so may not work for you, but may depend on mileage.

It went up another £100 pounds and when I asked why the lady said we are not taking on cosworths anymore but as I was and existing customer they would still insure me

Might try again when my renewal comes up

It's worth ringing Boncaster for a quote, you don't have to be a member at the time of getting the quote. They quoted me £300 on a Focus RS, limited to 5000 miles a year and that was with keeping my NCB on my other car.

Because your specific policy was a modified vehicle policy with a company who specialises in that risk. Because they are very specific about who they insure, the kind of customer they want is people who see thier modified car as thier pride and joy - ie less likley to take risks with it compared to others.

So you then change to a standard shitter of a car and they rightly assume as its normal then you wont care about it so much aka higher risk - however they will allow you to complete the policy. come renewal you would find that insurance company wont cover your standard car.
