Insurance payout
Earlier today the misses was ran into, she drives an 05 reg 130TDCi. Damage from what i can see is a new wing, light, front bumper with fogs but more importantly the steel bumper behind the plastic one (Crimple Zone?) has dented and deformed so at a guess im presuming they will write it off which isnt a concern but just wondered what this would be valued at as a write off?

Probably current market value?

I think u get what u insure it for! My gt4 is insured for 5500 so in the event of theft or a right off that's what I'll receive

IF the car is written off a payout will be the current market value of the car or the value you have declared to the insurer.
It will usually be the lower figure as if you have insured a car for 5k that only has a 3k value they will not pay out the 5k as that would be betterment. Or if you have insured a car for 3K that is worth 5k you will be underinsured so will be a proportional payout. |

Depends on a few factors - but I'd imagine they'd bid you under £1500.
|
and you get the option to buy it back at salvage. my lad's corsa was written off as a Cat C. they gave him £1600 for it, and we bought it back off them for £120. all it needed was a new door. a new door was £50 from a scrappy and it was good as new!

We had our KA hit once and it got repaired, got hit again and wrote off and they paid us out £2200, we only paid 1800 for it
