Default Bought car but ridiculous insurance !

Just bought a mondeo st200 and I had a shock tonight when I came to insure it . I'm 28, clean licence, no convictions, passed test 11years ago, 9 years no claims and they want just under £600 a year for 7000 miles.

I have tried green light, Adrian flux, compare the market, confused.com and money supermarket.

Are there any good ones I'm missing?

£600 a year don't sound too bad to me considering what I pay. What were you expecting it to be in the realms of?

P.S. Insurance is the closest form to theft that is legal.

great car and one of the worst ford ever made on fuel economy apart from the st170 thats for sure, major part of it is where you live as my st170 used to cost £200 a year to insure in norfolk but in london it was £700, go figure

its not the actual area that puts the insurance up its the road, my road there is a car theft or house burgled generally every month which is getting more and more rediculous yet my nans road just around the corner is alot cheaper to get a quote id imagine because theres alot less reported car thefts

To my amazement it's a group 34 insurance ! I was hoping it would be in the low 400's. I have just moved into a brand new house but the area did used to have a reputation but a lot better now.

the road is the area and normally its the postcode that defines what load the policys get, once given a bad rep by insurers its never going to change, st200s and st170s are stupid insurance and tax and both need a fuel tanker on tap
