Default Football Thread 2018/19

with the footie coming back to invade life this friday, who are you putting your money on to win the big stuff this season?

obviously this isn't just about the premier league so if you support one of the other teams then put your teams down too

as a spurs fan i don't think arsenal will be firing on all guns, but having just lost our last game 4-1 i can see those fingers already pointing out the irony

Yeah, CIty for me too. Think Liverpool could push them, as they are improving their squad steadily, but they can still be unpredictable. I think moaning Mourinho could well be gone before the season is out, as he looks on the verge of meltdown, which is a shame, as he has a good squad and it would add a nice dimension to the title race. He could win the league or finish mid-table, he is that ridiculous. City and Liverpool likely to be a force in the Champions League too.

Meanwhile, Norwich will remain decidedly mediocre

I think it could all unravel for Moureen this season. Won one, lost one isn't the worst start to a season, but it all feels very wrong somehow. He does seem to struggle to keep players on side.

City look unstoppable so far.

At long bloody last. Hopefully that's the last we'll see of that whiny sod in the Premier League

Some great players in that squad. If they can get a decent manager in place, they should be right back in the mix.

United thought they were bigger than the manager

I hope Liverpool win the Champions League final. For them and City to get a major trophy each would be well deserved after their performances this season, both have been amazing to watch.

I'm a Norwich fan and not sure I am looking forward to being their cannon fodder next season

At least we haven’t got Suarez now. He loved that Norwich net 😂😂

Yeah its been a dodgy season for us, but positives, can you imagine the title winners swapped over, Liverpool won the Premiership and City won the Champions League? And also at least Leeds didn't go up. Its still 20 -18 to United, and it shouldn't have been. Always next year mate.

Right I'm off to bed now, just woke up with the alarm to watch glass jaw Josua get KO'd in his first outing in America so I'm happy. Fury #1 Wylder #2 AJ 3

I honestly can’t believe what’s happened at United . We’re never gonna be the force they were under fergie ever again , but didn’t think they’d turn into the laughing stock they are now ! OGS appointed on the back of a lucky run when they were playing with a nothing to lose attitude after moaning Jose went ! Madness !

The days of Ferguson domination or old Liverpool are gone, too many big teams now, too much tv money or outside cash. The majority are one or two team leagues, ours is about 6 now. United have some good players, need more, do have big spending and wage power regardless of where they lie but they do need changes beyond manager level. Ole could come good, like Klopp its early days and not fair to judge him after part of someone else season, he did well at a time, considering. Far from a lucky run. If he does bad we replace him and on we go again.

Liverpool did well this season with good football as well, but it still stands as last won the title in 1989/90 season and Manchester United won it in 2012/13. So lets get some perspective here.
