Default esc cossie lower spoilers - is bubbling up common??

Looked at the 15k miler yesterday and noticed that the rear spoiler has some bubbling up of the paint around where the big fin's stalk comes down into it and has a few along the back edge ( towards the window )
i heard someone say once that this is common???
is that true, also, once painted, do they tend to come back or is it a factory f**k up?

Cheers people!

I had recall on this from Ford when I bought the car it was painted and fitted with a rubber seal at the bottom of the leg.

The chap at Ford said a few had come back, I never had a problem at the time but I took it back on the recall. This was back in 96

no sign at all on mine, which is immaculate everywhere (89 000 kilometers).
Maybe it's because of too much rain you got in UK, no ?

yep, as all4it says its moisture trapped inside which cant escape so it bubbles the paintwork,my last one suffered the same on the side of the top spoiler, but my current one is fine, damp humid conditions dont help,so i suggest we all emigrate!lol

The bubbles need to be drilled (into the spoiler) & filled and repainted to prevent it coming back (IIRC).

Paul,

The spoiler you have was a brand new one and only painted once, when I ordered it I asked for a later version as these are suppose not to cause any blistering

Gary,

The later Escorts Cosworth I believe didn't have a blistering problem
