thanks mate!

another question i have is,
whats involved in fitting the rear bushes?

does the whole rear end need to come off?

also, do any of them need to be Pressed in? and old ones pressed out?

I know the front ones are easy.

there have been countless threads about this over the past few months, but they all boil down to how much money you have

they ain't expensive for nothing

as for the rear end, if you are doing the whole 6 then yes, you need to drop it to get the bushes out due to some tawt at ford deciding that the needed to put the diff in the way of some of the botls that need to come out

i didn't need to get mine pressed out but most people haven't been as lucky

if you are only doing the beam to body ones thentry the following:

support the beam with a trolley jack
undo the 3 bolts (2 for the plate and one for the beam)
let the jack down
the beam should drop down enough so you can put a big lump of something in the way between the bush and the body
jack the car up again and it "should" pop right out
if it doesn't, try dropping a bit of a lardy into the back seat to pop it out (as i said, mine popped out straight away but my mates needed a hefty 24 stoner to get them to shift)
support the beam with an axle stand
clean the inside of the beam where the bush sits
put the new bush (well lubbed) into the bit where you want it to go and jack the new bush into place (again, a lardy volenteer may help here )
and job done

lol thanks mate!

as said the deflex ones did seem a bit cheap.

seems a bit of a mission to get the rear ones out then in again!

the rear beams i did on mine in about 40 minutes, both sides

but my mate took 3 hours just to not do one (if you know what i mean)

if you want to do the wishbones then it's worth pressing them out

ive used nothing but deflex in 3 cars, no probs whatsoever!

on the other hand, i just had to rip my powerflex bushes out as they have failed in the lower arms and they are less than a year old.

in an intresting development though, i'm still waiting for ford to get back to me about fitting poly bushes to their tca;s

apparently, if you have ford tas and fit poly bushes and the tca's fail, they aren't covered under their parts warrantly (says me who's £66 worse off because of this)

as soon as i get a letter though, it'll get posted EVERYWHERE

I used Powerflex on the two main big doughnuts, left the rose joints in, and used poly race for the anti roll bar.

JUST Been doing a bit more searching on this subject on here.

Why is it some people are saying NOT to poly bush the rear end
of cossies?
are they a bit harsh on the road? but im also reading
people saying they are absoltly fine on the road.

DAMO V said to only use genuine spherical rear beam mounts,
just wondered others views ?

just wondering Pros and cons!

PS: i do realise that it will be a more harsh ride than standard bushes,
but thats to be expected right.
