Lowest possible is 195/40/16

Continental make them, Pirelli also do them, but be prepared for alot of expense cos they ain't cheap.

And you'll have to be ultra careful you don't kerb them as they'll have no protection from the tyres. PLus these ultra low profiles don't have rim protection built into the tyre, so avoid potholes

Yeah, get normal wheels, then stick them on when you park.

i think you will find they do mate. just if you fit the wrong size tyres they stretch over the rim with looks gay anyways.

and why is this bloke wanting to lower the gearing with stupid looking lower profile tyres? :S

Ain't he saying he wants to lower the 'profile' not the 'width' i.e 225/45/16 or 225/50/16 or 225/40/16

Or and i seeing things a bit wrong here.............

i thought that too

i had 215/40/16 on mine, but you can get 215/35/16

if you want to stick with 225,then a 40 profile is the lowest you can go i think

being 8J i wouldn't risk going lower than a 215,cos you'll risk dismounting the tyre on 'spirited' driving

thanks guys

Yes it is the profile I want to lower not the width as they are wide wheels and don't want the tyres to be stretched on the rim.

The reason I want to do this is because I have sierra running gear in a peugeot 205 and I want to increase the castor angle without the wheels catching the front bumber. I would like to keep the escort wheels as they sit nicely in the arch and have the right offset that suits my car.

where and how how much can I get 215 35 16.

cheers muppet.

these will be your best bet i reckon, but they are an expensive tyre size!

I'm running 215/35/16s on my Gtir and they are a smaller diammeter than the 195/40/16

I got them from mytyres in the link above. about £100 each including buying and fitting for the dunlops sp9000s

Edited to add, checking the site they've gone down about £10 since I got mine.

PPS they have rpb
