anybody work on merc sprinter vans?
my 1997 312 sprinter keeps "holding back" when accelerating, doing it all the time now and has got progressivly worse, when you brake and the speed drops below 20mph the abs starts working, anybody know whats wrong with it?ive changed a rear abs sensor that was damaged,it was fine after that for about 100miles but has got worse again, any help greatly apreciated as we have to get to rockingham in the peice of shit on saturday for a rally.

Get it into the dealer and hook it up to the Star Machine (diagnostics). CV dealer prices aint that bad and it'll be fixed much quicker than faffing about trying to guess at the problem.
If you do end up taking it to your local CV dealer, drop me a pm with where you are and if I know the Service Manager there I can ask for some discount for you.

have a look at the rear wheel speed sensors tim, juck the van up and use a multimeter on ac volts and then disconnect the sensors multiplug connect the meter ( im assuming there std abs inductive sensors here ) you should then spin the wheel and check the sensors output in AC volts, will vary with speed of rotation. the merc from memory utilises the rear abs sensors as part of a basic traction control system for rear wheel spin under acceleration, if one sensor is out of limits it may see it as wheel slip
