S2 ECU's?

My ECU has a Heart, Triangle [does everyone else call these diamonds?], Hash on a sticker on it.

Without getting too technical:

Why do some have colours on the front instead of the hearts, triangle stuff?

Which colours, if any, correspond to mine?

What are the major differences between those with different colours/shapes?

Thanks!

I think you will find that the one with the Heart Triangle Hash is a later replacement ECU. :top:

Steve m8, should mine have that ecu on it then? IT got the 90 spec one? Christ, I'm worse at electrics than I am anything mechanical and I'mm fooking rubbish at that....

Sounds as if it has been replaced at some time, it should run ok with it :?
May be the car was chipped before you bought it and the ecu was swapped out for a stranded one, that may explaine the problem you had with the boost cut out :?

I am considering swapping the wheels for a can of petrol and a box of matches to get rid of the rest of the bloody car....

CabrioTurbo Jul 8, 2004 04:24 PM

as above the ecu you have is a later 90 spec one.
The only problem i could see this causing is if your older car doesnt have the knock sensor wiring.. as this should really be plugged into the ecu you have.. if you do have all the knock sensor stuff then i cant see a problem.

If I remember correctly paddy's car has a knock sensor, but at the kind of low  boost levels he is running det is least of the problems :?
