Default How do you clean an ISCV?

the ammount of times ive read "give your ISCV a clean" is quite high...

however, i never asked the question...

HOW

do you just take it off and spray it with carb cleaner?

k#just looked at it and it looks fiddly to get off on mine, took the servo part off, gave it a quick squirt and put it back on

i'll just buy a new one and pay someone to fit it

just clean it up with carb cleaner, piss easy to do just keep spraying til no more black shit runs out

Pretty much. Except on mine I have to take the throttle body off to take it out, so I just opened the butterfly by hand and squirted aload in there and mopped up what I could with an old T Shirt.

The rest will burn off once you start the car.

Jim, petrol works very well but not as good as carb cleaner. It will be all coked up inside so I usually spray it in and give a gentle shake then empty and keep repeating until no more crud comes out. Give me a bell if you need a hand.

jimbo i kinda do need a hand... ie how do you get it off, the bolts look awkward to get to (i didnt even try tho )
