...what G could my Escort with 6pot/356 discs pull?..Say stopping full on from 150mph....and what effect would this have on ones body who never done this before?
Just trying to work out how powerful these brakes actually are!

PMSL @ the thought of passing out in a car that heavy on only road tyres just from the brakes
I wouldnt worry phil, you might go over a G but you wont get anywhere near enough to black out mate!

Martin i have been driving about lightly using them for a good few miles...done the odd heavy stop from 30mph now though
So over 1 G I know nothing about this...obviously the passing out bit was a joke hence the ...i just thought full on braking from say 150mph may cause you to go a little lightheaded with these brakes...yes or no to that possibility..thats all i asking

If you stand on them at 150 they will probably underwhelm you.
Those sort of speeds have a habbit of making ANY brakes feel like they arent working well enough!
Especialy if there is a corner approaching!

ur car will prob pull over accelrating! A good sprts car will pull 1.5g in the corners.
Phil - why not get a G meter - they arent that expensive, and good for setting up

The brakes are very good indeed, 362's on DS3000 pads. The rear end looks high because on the short sprint circuits I run the car high at the back to make it oversteer a bit. And then run softer settings on the front to help this.
Faster real circuits the set up is very different, for instance I ran a completely opposite set up for Rockingham than that of the Top Gear sprint day.

Get an accelerometer and measure it!
Aircraft/Rollercoaster G's are pulled through the vertical axis though, totally different to the braking G's, which are along the longditudinal axis....so no danger of "passing out" etc!

Neil,
If his car could even do 150mph, that would be a start .
Phil,
You want some proper brakes, none of this girlie 356mm stuff . Seriously, you should find that at any speed with these brakes, it will be like throwing an anchor out of the boot . You will certainly need to be bracing yourself against the steering wheel . To gauge the effectiveness of them, measure the bruising on Jen's breasts .
