not disputting the fact but i would love to see this graph

here's mine with on greys and t34

Pugo,
My torque curve maxed out at 312lbf at 4481rpm and then dropped to 280lbf at 6000rpm., whilst at 4481 rpm the bhp was obviously still rising.

looking forward to seeing this graph, do you know or did tiff tell you as to what the cams were dialled in at i.e deg's at full lift???

because to be making power as late as your saying , you must have the inlet cam wound off quite late

It's been a while since Ive seen Tiffs old car, but if I recall correctly I mapped it at around 27psi on a 0.63 T34 and greys. It is certainly more than 320bhp unless the boost levels have been altered. ( Or indeed if the amal valve has failed it will also be low on boost)

The result is only a suprise if we know the full facts. If it was indeed running 27psi and only making 320bhp then something is seriously wrong and Id recommend the car be looked at asap!!

I think i can speak for my father here and say, if anyone is looking at the car, i dont think he would hesitate for one second, it would be going back into your hands to make sure everything is tip top....I feel another road trip coming on here!!!

Seriously im not joking, if its holding 26psi and is genuinely only making 320bhp then something is amiss!!

Im not just saying that because I used to look after the car, but it could be something very simple such as a jumped camp belt (i.e wrong cam timing)

The car made 290bhp with 17psi as a stage 1 so its not going to be 320bhp with a 10psi increase and a larger turbo!!!

Get it checked by your local cossie specialist!!

On a trailer to be on the safe side I would say.

Not an expert on boost but if at 17 it made 290 and 27 it makes 320, the car doesnt sound right and also to build a larger turbo in to the equation.

....you all getting over excited saying about its because the driver let off at 6k rpm...in my understanding that is peak power for the t34 .63 so something is not right!!!!

phil,
it has more to do with the cams and timing to where it makes its peak power as my graph shows, on my first run i ran the inlet cam FL at 115atdc but on the second run i ran it at 110atdc, shifted the peak power point down3-400 rpm and upped it 25 bhp so if the guys verniers or cam wheels have slipped there is a possibility that may be the cause or something silly like he has lost a bit of compression i.e rings, h/gskt air leak etc

my thoughts exactly, tis why i asked him if karl/tiff gave him the cam timings so that he could check it or was it set up by karl like that i.e to make its power delivery smoother and higher up the rev range

Maybe the rollers it was rolling roaded on to make 290 at stage 1 were crap rollers? and this 320 is the corrct figure.

Defo not, rollers were nobles and the 290 was correct.

Are you sure your RR is accurate?

I normally make 320bhp on a T34 at around 1.4bar boost, 350bhp at 1.7 bar and 370bhp at around 1.9bar. Obviously it varies depending on engine mods and Tiffs old car is a standard engine so Id expect it to be on the lower side, but 350bhp is about correct for this engine at 1.8bar.

Is any RR accurate ?? Rollers all across the country vary.

Given an Evo and automatic TT Supra made 374bhp on the same day, I highly doubt their rollers are reading low.

I have to agree with that stevie.....It seems their rolling road is VERY accurate as they also rolling roaded the fiesta with 160bhp which is correct as it was rolling roaded at another venue with the same 160bhp.

Karl would you come over to set the car up if flights etc were paid? Just wondering.

if the rollers are accurate you must have a problem. that engine spec should produce considerably more than 320 bhp. put it this way when potential customers phone karl, msd, mad or whoever and ask what their greys, t34 conversions produce they wouldnt have many takers if the answer they gave was 320 bhp.

i didn't say you did claim flywheel figures, however i don't believe you that you made 287.9 at the wheels

and yes rwd losses are higher than that

sorry
