Anyone do 4x4 off-roading ??

Me and my mates will be purchasing a Suzuki SJ413 Samurai tomorrow that we won of Ebay.... :top:

Where do you go ? We've found a few places.... http://www.4x4driving.co.uk/location.htm , http://www.offroadroutes.net/ , http://www.woodlands4x4.ic24.net/

Who ya insured with ? Cause most places don't cover off-roading as they class it as rallying/trials

Paddy 21-10-2005 07:35 PM

I was JUST gonna post about this

Jooster bought this SJ410 [him in the pictures] for £100 and we were out green laning yesterday :top: :top: There's a day on November 6th at Pingewood near Reading, £25 for the car [so as many drivers as you want] ALL day driving through mud and shit :top: can't wait :top:

Donuts like a good un
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...1077/suzi3.jpg

That's my missus in the back  can't beat a bit of green laning for beautiful scenery :top:

Spax 21-10-2005 07:49 PM

oh my god lol,my mates had 6 of these,2 410's and 3 413's lol and a long wheel base one...was crap! being an island we hit the beaches and fields etc, great fun..altho he's got his V8 super charged Range Rover now lol it's a monster! a tip....get a jack kit if poss and big wide rims with mud tyres,it will go ANYWHERE! lol :top: good luck!

Paddy 21-10-2005 07:52 PM

I'd LOVE to go to guernsey again :top: went a couple times when I was younger and stayed near that little chapel covered in broken bits of plates and stuff??

Beaches there are stunning

Ask your mate if he's got any bits left from the SJ's would be a good excuse to come and meet ya :top:

TIFF 21-10-2005 07:53 PM

Sometimes i park my Range Rover on the grass

Adam_BlackRS 21-10-2005 07:56 PM

Paddy, http://www.woodlands4x4.ic24.net/ ..... there next one is on the 6th Nov.... we're planning to go to that one.... its near brands hatch

This is the one we've bought... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 :top:

Who ya insured with Paddy ?

Spax 21-10-2005 07:58 PM

His Range rover is an Animal lol, proper racer for fields etc,it's got leather too   also has a Punto GT that he holed a piston on (getting rebuilt) a mk 2 Escort running a 2 Litre Pinto n 45 Webbers,a 4.4 Litre V8 Chevy lol ,a BMW M3 Conv(Estrol Blue :D ) a leyland Daf 16 seater Minibus...don't ask.....and a 4WD Saph Cossie, having a Full engine rebuild with anti lag etc

I've got my old windscreen off mine....4 spotties on the roof above the screen, wicked view at night! :top: not many spares left lol, dumped, broke, ble up/rotted alot of em lol

Paddy 21-10-2005 08:11 PM

Adam, I'm pretty sure thats the one mate near Reading :top: will see you there :top:

I'm on a traders policy mate seperate to this old bit of crap  , but it's Joosters toy, he reckons he can get limited miles [5000? dunno :? ] from Tesco insurance for about £150 for the year? won't cover off road but for the price of the car is doesn't really matter if he rolls it over and leaves it there

As long as you're insured on road normally, I wouldn't bother about any "off road" bits as its only yourself and the local wild life you're likely to damage

When you go green laning, take a bin bag with ya :top: pick up all the litter you find and it keeps the farmers and ramblers off your back :top:

Paddy 21-10-2005 08:14 PM

Just looked at the zuki you bought  thats gonna be a shit load of fun that weekend mate :top:

did you notice the seat we bolted in the back so 3 of us could go out for the day    every time I stood up to "surf" the fucking dog was jumping in ma grave

Adam_BlackRS 21-10-2005 08:32 PM

WOODLANDS 4X4 OFF ROAD CENTRE IS APPROX 5 MILES SOUTH OF BRANDS HATCH IN KENT...... no where near Reading

Me and my mates used to have a SJ410 soft top.... just used it on my mates private land.... was sooooo much fun.

We can't wait to start modding our new one.... Snorkle first and then a suspension lift :top:

Cause we've bought it between 4 of us, we dunno whether to fit 2 rear seats or just leave it as a 2 seater and take turns

Paddy 21-10-2005 08:41 PM

Brands Hatch  fuckin hell I'd have looked like a plum turning up there on me own  my sense of direction is disgusting and my ability to ignore details is legendary

Yeah get 2 seats bolte in the back SO much more fun with a load of people trying to rock the fucker over

btw Eagles knows shit loads about the old zukis and all this off roading business, we should organise a PF mud thrash

Kevin Sharp 21-10-2005 08:42 PM

heres mine..they are great fun....the suspension has been lifted around another 5" since this pic was taken.....my 2 daughters aged 9and 11 can do up to 150 miles in the field in the space of a weekend with it
