Boost gauage lines, which one? (MAP or DV)
Do you take it from the Map Sensor line, or the Dump Valve line?
If you take the boost gauage pipe from the map sensor pipe then surely it's gonna tell you what the car SHOULD be running (boost) according to the map sensor. and if you take it from the dump valve one it's going to tell you what the actual PRESSURE is?
Many thanks,
Also what's the best stuff to use for it? (not the blue stuff)
I think I'm going to get Diesel injector pipe

Leave the map sensor line alone!
All vac lines should have the same reading as they all come from the same place (the manifold), if you get different readings then you have problems

I'm only asking because mine's from the dump valve line, and everyone else's at the meet today was coming from the map sensor line! And I've never heard of it coming from there before, I assumed they were all from the dump valve line!

DV is easiest / safest place to take a T from, if for some reason the split you put in the map sensor line starts leaking or comes apart when your going flat out the ecu will think the engine is consuming less air than it actually is, so will put less fuel in, see where this is going? This is also true of the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel pressure could drop suddenly.
If DV line leaks then the DV will open and the boost will drop
If DV line leaks then the DV will open and the boost will drop

Excellent cheers guys!
I was sure it wasn't meant to be taken from the Map sensor line, as this is more electrical rather than actual pressure and can lead to something like that

Fine thanks Tony!
I've rebuilt the engine myself, got a new gearbox and clutch amongst other things, like some bling under the bonnet! There's a topic on it in the Project's resto's and rebuild's section mate
How have you been keeping? Still spraying for Merc's?
Seen any of Brad recently?
Regards,
Charlie
