Default thermostat housing gasket for a 2wd saf

do halfords sell them??

if so when does halfords opn on a sunday morning??

halfords do sell em,,,,,,,,,,,, but there the wrong one, you have to make holes for em

basically its a multifit gasket with all the drillings but one of em line up properly

hole punch if ya desperate, infact a cornflake box is a VERY good temp fix

not taking the piss either

not too desperate as they car is cool. just took it off to fit the new thermo today and didnt realise that there was a gasket. can get one from ford and do it monday...

get a ball bearing bigger than the hole, and gently tap it with a hammer over the gasket when its lined up over the hole

Just use some decent rtv silicone sealant thats what i use!

not if you haven't got a hole punch, but you have got a ball bearing..

who owns a computer and dont own a hole punch

ive never used mine apart from to make a gasket, i just have one, dont even rememebr buying it

just swapped the thermostat for an 88 degree one. managed to use the old gasket again.
temp sits about half way.

fans still run alot more than they used to tho but think thats to do with the cams and not being mapped yet i.e running abit hotter

why would cams make it run hotter mate oh mine runs about half to and the fans stay on longer i got bd10s in mine

cos it has not been mapped for the new cams yet...(wilder than BD10's)

spoken to a couple of experts on this subject and both confirmed the same... something t do with the vaccum in the inlet manifold now being different.

my understanding is...

longer duration and higher lift = more air but without the fuel to match it will be running leaner=hotter

wil be sorted when the management is fitted and mapped
