So Escos update...
...put Ohlins remote resevior coil overs all round, added 5 mm spacer all round on ET25 OZ super t's,poly bushed whole front end, installed big sub and 16 x 9's ,installed a SECS moniter along with fuel pressure/oil pressure/boost pressure gauges, put normal rear lights on cause everyone called me a right Mike R with clears on ,put a motorsport developments stage 3 chip in,for now All ride height setup 3mm higher at the back than front.
Next thing is brakes...rears are gonna be the Mike R 300mm jobbies but bought on e-bay as they are cheaper ROFL Fronts i am scouting for good priced ones..tempted to try them Comp ones as they are very good priced or go balls on on 6 pot AP's...just not sure yet....then really its enjoy the stage 3 setup......then i will think gearbox etc to comp with my large powered engine to drop in...is 600 plus coming?

...Tiff without doubt the Escos is the Daddy in Cosworth terms....youd never go back to a saff or a 3 dr after owning one imo IMO completely different being outrageous to look at more grip than Rainbirds cock in Pons arse ,more modern inside and more important a PROPER Cosworth in the sense it was made specifically and not a std base car with go faster bits....so the value will always remain high IMO..Not knocking the other Cossies far from it.....but i see it as if you are a Cossie freak you start cheap on the Saff then get the 3dr then when you grown up the Escos
BUT then i have bought my ideal Cossie ie no sunroof motorsport shell no air bags and on a P plate but not needing a cat for MOT...oh and privacy glass to stop me being recognised
So to sum up..its the best car in the world

Gus..NO WAY having had all 3 IMO the Escort is THE Cossie to aspire to
Tim....thats a tuff one
Ferrari has the looks, drivability, stopping power/handling with the right mods, noise BUT is difficult to drive slow due to no power steering and twin plate clutch...it has 320bhp and weighs the same as the Escos so aint quite as fast at stage 3 level...A TRUE SUPERCAR
Escos has the looks in a non wow kinda way, laggy to drive on the T35,but far easier to drive full stop, handling is not as good at the mo as i gotta set the ohlins up!,nowhere near the sound of an F-Car on a sports exhaust A TRUE SUPERCAR SLAYER
To sum up i love em both for different reasons so cant really say!

Your a lucky chap to have both really!
Which one will be getting the chop first though?
I reckon you will get sick of the tough drivability of the 348, and I can't see you planning a silly engine for it Bordem will set in

personally dont like the look of the escort but each to there own.
having driven both i can say there isnt much in it for me, its just 90% of the time 3dr are showing there age. too totally different style of driving for the cars.
horses for courses as they say.
Glad your enjoying it phil

i think its tarted up the most personally. but of course thats my view.
but i understand your point about the pupose built side though
But in that sense, they were made for rallying and never ment to see the road, only due to the rules did they have too sell it to joe bloggs
So in that sense your driving a shell with heritage that is it, everything else is different in a rally car and not bought over for sale purposes.
So no different from a 3dr.

Phil - Ap 6 pots every time. I run these (355's) with Mikes 300mm at the rear and the braking is awesome.
Would like to know if I could go 378mm but I think I need a different version of the caliper for that

Most dash's are plastic but of course it's gonna appear dated to the likes of a bimmer!
LOL @ PON - seek help, and quick!!

Bill i know he is. I prefer the saph dash and 3 door. I personally dont know what the dashes are made of in the sierra, but they just dont appear plasticy like the bloody escort.... The placky dash with the placky banana bit stuck on and the placky centre console butted up to it At least the sierra was moulded and shaped nice....
All imo of course...
I did like the clocks tho

Phil,
DON'T get the Comp brakes, as from the reviews from owners they VISIBLY flex and this is not a good thing for a calliper to do. You're always saying it is not a money issue, so I would recommend that you spend the few hundred extra and get the APs.
Also, if you're going to get the brakes off Ebay, wait until they start grooving them, or you will have a mismatch front to rear .
