I tried the BTP application not so long ago too, but couldn't be arsed once I got to the essay type questions, as far as the other questions go, like family info, if you've not had contact with a family member for years like I have, how the f00k are you supposed to know where they live, and if you don't know or they find out you've got a relative you haven't mentioned, you get rejected anyway also if you've got a relative thats go a criminal record YOU still get rejected, far too intense if you ask me, the Constabulary one is just as bad, got more chance of winning the lottery then getting in, and if you do get past application stage, theres about another 6 stages!!!!! all rejectable stages too FFS

How can people be expected to fill the forms out like that when most of them don't look old enough to have left school yet.

It's a reallt weird feeling getting a ticking off from somebody that looks about 12 years old and is half my size (and I'm a skinny coont). No wonder they're too scared to tackle real crime. I've taken dumps bigger than some of these plod

What sort of essay-questions do they ask, anyway? Got no interest in applying, just wondering what sort of things they ask...

one of them is "describe a time when you have show respect to someone with a deep rooted belief, whether it be religious, moral, cultural etc"

they want about a page of writing for that one!!!!

I think the application form is designed to weedle out the "thickies" . Just think how bad the police force WOULD be if it didn't .

Anna,
Not only that but they have to articulate it - hence why most people give up, as they don't do "writing" .
