Paul, thats not gravy m8

Paul is it possible that something has got in the inlet when cleaning the block (dirt/rust)? or did you blow the turbo out with an air line after cleaning out the carbon and before fitting it?

As for where to go now, if you want to do the job proper is it not possible to have those marks on the bore polished out and honed for the next size up pistons 0.5mm i think? a std set of oversized pistons arent over expensive. (about £400 for the set if i recall)

AndyRST, Very little chance mate, as after everything was powder coated it was all throughly cleaned, nothing was rusty on the engine.

Nope i never cleaned the turbo out, what ever was in the turbo was there from when the engine was running So i can only assume any damage that was caused happened while the engine was still in the 5 door 'scort.
