that looks right - ypu may have to remove some of the sound deadening, but i can't see why they are giving you a problem as they are

could you not slaken the bolt at the top to lower the threaded bit and then tighten the coil spring up from the bottom platform.

or just loosen the nut off so it does not compress the spring that much.

Is the bottom nut not meant to be tight on the stop? cause its not even compressing the spring cause the coil over is screwed down

the shocker mounting plate was a one piece item when it left the factory unfortunately due to the hard top mount bush on the esc cossie it soon becomes a two piece item.
they need replacing on every service lol

no the bearing is seperate the gold part is supposed to have a 12 mm hole in it not the centre ripped out ,the gold part should be under your nut.

the spring top is supposed to slide over the shocker shaft the bearing is supposed to mahe contact with this just like the standard spring top plate then comes the (gold plate one piece item)not the special diy gold plate you have then comes the the long nut then the top mount bush the car the top plate and then the top nut.If the threads are still to long you need a spacer on the schocker shaft below the bearing.

Only issue I can see is exactly as Tony said, the gold top suspension mount has it's centre cracked out.

Replace these with new items and reassemble with the gold nut above this mount and you will find everything is spot on!

He does in fact know what he's doing

He has fiited suspension to quite a few of our cars with no problems. I'd say the suspension is not right.
