Default I dont think this is to good ???

Ive got an oil leek coming from somewhere but its dripping onto my downpipe and smoking while im driving ive only just found this out my question is, is it ok to drive to garage to get sorted or is that to risky ? i obvously dont want the car to burst into flames

i wouldnt of thought it would burst into flames, ive drove cars where the rocker gasket has been so bad the oil was just dripping onto the manifold!

i would be more worried that somethings not getting the oil, like the turbo!

Take it easy and don't thrash it. As long as it's not absolutely pissing out oil then a drip or 2 will soon burn off without setting on fire.

If it is pissing out then I advise recovering the car to a workshop.

It looks like its from the block its self what do you think is the best thing to do, clean it up and see where it comes from ?
I really didnt want this time to come, just when i was starting to convince myself fords didnt stand for Fix Or Repair Daily

could be the little pipe from the turbo oil return, quite common, if its from the front of the block

as said, probably the oil return from the turbo. mine done the exact same, dripped right onto the exhaust casuing it to smoke from behind whilst driving

i have the same problem, noticed a patch of oil on my drive this morning!

and smelt the oil burning today!

yea replace it, either a ford hose or get a length cut, but it may? need a slight bend in it so the hose dont fold as it's short/needs to bend slightly. watch the hose clips though if your using the adjustable ones cos they can split the hose easy if over tightened.

dont use water pipe though mate

as it it will set fire due to have string inside

it sounds like your oil return pipe! the car aint going to burst into flames even if you put petrol on the exhaust!! normally you wont need a new pipe unless its split, just stick some jubilee clips on both ends and it'll be fine, also check you sump gasket while your there.
