Ford 2.8 V6 Turbo hp?
Anyone hazard a guess as to the kind of bhp/torque this engine would deliver? Would it be any good for a novice in a track car??
2.8 V6 Engine:Ferriday Eng. built. KS Pistons, new main & bigend bearings, new valve guides, 3 angle seats, machine polished valve stems & tips, special Kent Cam 270 profile widened lobes, competition valve springs & followers, compression ratio dropped to 8.3:1, T3 hybrid turbo, cosworth intercooler
Cheers Spadge...

Bit over 200bhp and nice and drivable with lots of low down power and not much up top, seems an OTT spec for such a poo little turbo, gonna be strangling the fuck out of it.
Should be fun/easy to drive though.

I've seen numerous 2.8 T3 setups delivering 250bhp but the torque is mental
the TT200 kit's are beautifully drivable when running 0.4bar, so so smooth and almost lagless for a single turbo setup
IMO if you really want god power and metal torque then a janspeed kit is the one to go for the rotormaster turbo's with external wastegate really do the job well
For track a low boost TT setup would be ideal. BTW 8.3:1 cr is lower comp it really wants to run more boost than 0.4 bar otherwise you'll want to be making changes to the bottom end ignition curve.
Cheaps engines to fix

For a cheap RWD track car to wang sideways and shit it will make a quality fun car
With that comp id say 15psi wont be a problem if its mapped for it, and will be totally lagless so should be a good crack.
It wont be that impressive down the straights like a big power YB, but tracks aint about the straights really.
I reckon a .63 housing T34 and a decent fuel/ign/managment setup on a mota like that would be pretty ace fun
Weld up the diff if you want fun imo...

Have the heads been ported at all? The heads are a real restriction on these engines and unlock quite a bt of power.
Wierd that it doesn't seem to have any kind of breather system, these engines breath pretty hard usually.
If it's on a standard type-9 the box won't last very long with hard driving. In fact the shonky old boat anchor 2.8 isn't supposed to stand up to track action that well. I'd be wary of one with track miles on it myself.
The engine is unlikely to fetch much on the 2nd hand market I'm afraid. The turbo kits go from between £300 and £700 depending on condition and parts included.

yeah i concure on the fuel consumption! had mine down close to 10mpg just hooning on the road..
Spadge, just for reference mine is standard motor(err.. 110k smokes a little ) running 6psi made 191bhp & 215lbft...
ferriday do know what there doing though! at that spec i would say over 250bhp
as stated there is no second hand market for this stuff, mate just sold a complete TT kit on ebay, with a brand new turbo (inc receipt from TT for £425 unused ) the kit went for £400 exactly
that fuel tank looks good though!
