I have a 2wd stage3 saph with t34 .63 and the usual stuff, had a pop at a noble m12 gto yesterday, identical in 4th gear, but not sure what would have happened on a decent long road from lower speeds, would probably get spanked.

A well setup stg3 runs 13's on quarter mile I believe, last time at the pod, there was a lambo murcielago (or Gallardo) and a 360 convertible, they were running high 12's/low13's if I remember correctly, so that gives you a good idea.
I ran my 4x4 (only stage 1 ) up the strip to get an idea of its performance, so I can compare it with others on paper, street racing is not always 100% accurate, you never really know how hard the other guy is trying.
Mind you, I would say one of the biggest problems cossies have against more modern supercars would be in the handling department.
Take an Evo III for example, you might leave it dead at the traffic light grand prix with a stg3 cossie, but at the roundabout rally, it will brake later, turn better and leave the cossie behind

Think there was a cossie set up by Ahmed that ran 12.4 (4x4) with about 330ish BHP, guy was called bob that used to own it I think, can't remember his username on here
That thing really went round corner's too IIRC!

In a drag race though the cossie will be a lot slower on the gear change compared to newer supercar machinery. Put a slick box in a its goodnight vienna. Didn't Martin run 330 in the old car with his R+D and that was flying. Std 4X4 gearbox are shite, don't know how much better the 2wds are.

I had a 5.0L TVR chimarea which is about as quick as a stg 3 cos, and the feeling is completely different, end result was similar though.

We went down this straight and hit about 120 mph. It felt quick but to be honest Im sure a properly setup stage 3 car would give a M3 a really hard time in a race.
Must admit the M3's engine sounded amazing. Just rawed after 5k rpm all the way to the limiter. We had the sport mode on too.

Five years ago it was still quick but now the competion is tougher.
Ive timed mine from 100-200kph (62-124mph) to compare with magazine tests and it can still surprise a few cars like the heavy Audi's.

I was nearly side-swiped by a 330 on saturday, going round a roundabout, noticed this back car coming towards the roundabout on my left at a rate high rate of knots, so slowed down cos I didn't think he'd stop - he didn't and could not have done at the speed he was going.
Putting the fact that he was obviously on a suicide mission aside, the speed he took round the roundabout (going straight ahead) was nothing short of amazing, I doubt you'd be able to do that in a cossie.
I am glad I saw him and stopped in time, I'd be dead by now otherwise, or, he'd be in a hedge/lamp post.
Long and short of it is, it's all good being able to pull a few car lenghts off a supercar (or whatever), but how good do you feel when that car overtakes on the outside round a bend/roundabout

that is true. there are some great handling cosworths out there, but i feel they have all been made to handle by owners buying uprated parts and fitting them.
In standard form, the cosworth 2wd suspension is not very good.
