as title, my wifes got a M reg mk6 XR3i and its the pants 105bhp, want to up the poke a bit and only ask as theres a 1.8 xr2i in my local scrappy.

cant be fooked with swapping engines as i would stick a 2l lump in or something if i was gunna do that but she wont let me.

anyhow, is this right what i have been told.

take the cams and the ECU, as thats all i need?

swap the 105 throttle housing for the larger 130 throttle housing

think thats good for a few horses

The xr2i 16v is 130 ps so is same as what you got. You need a Fiesta RS1800/Escort gti to get the parts from. You will need the 130ps cams, 130ps throttle bodie, and 130 ps ecu. Could always put the 2.0 maff off a mondeo on aswell as they are better than a 1.8 item. I habe some 130 ps cams spare you can buy but they can be found pretty easily .

scrap that................the 1.8 xr2i is also 105 bhp

you need a later xr3i or rs1800 throttle for 130 bhp

the xr2i engine is identical to your wifes car

ah, know the engines the same, but the wifes car is 100% 105 bhp, the xr2i in the scrappy has 130ps on the plastic inlet pipe and the missis 105ps.

so basicly, if i get cams, ecu and throttle body from a 130bhp car it will all work in the wifes car yeah?

will the ecu make any different between the 2i and the escort 3i?

the maf is the bit between the plastic cross over pipe and the airbox

mass air flow sensor

if it is a 130 ps, get the maf and the throttle and start from there. if your ganna bother with the hassle of changing the cams best get uprated ones from kent or piper etc.

or just take the whole head, ecu and all ancillarys

p.s does this xr2i have a front bumper on it, my missus needs a new one for her car

wife dont wanna sell the car really, if she does she wont buy another as she wants a galaxy next cos of the kids, lol

maff, go ya, air flow meter, think i got a 2L one on there as i nicked it off monedo down scrappy... prob the 1.8 one though but the fuel consumption on the wifes car is better now, lol

na mate the car had front end but i do know someone with a bumper for sale,
he bidded on 2 on ebay and won them both, lol
ill find out if hes still go them, 1 is going on his missis car and the other sold i spose, im having he's missis old one (as it cracked) to use for a couple of weeks while i sort my cossie one out.

what about cams from a 1.8 mondeo? or even a 2L mondeo??

The 2L cams are the same as the 1.8L 130PS ones.
