what managment ya got from the zetec engine as tbh when i looked into it the engine mount onm the head needed modding and the zorst modding and use the management off the zetec engine and it was done
might be more to it than that but when i was gonna do it there didnt seem any more
an engine is a engine and a engine bay is just a whole, aslong as ya can hold it then theres no problems and just need management to work it and ya away

well either way ya need new fuel lines and loom
not a easy job but can be done
decide what ya wanna do and go for it, efi conversion is belive it or not eaiser as theres less wiring and ya can fault find if ya got problems
plus ya get chatter

oh and dont swop the whole loom, the efi loom can be mader seperate and join a few wires and leave the rest of the loom alone, ive got a erst managment loom at the moment seperated and im doing a 1.4 carb orion conversion for stupid power engine and aftermarket managment on seperate looms then added to the fuse box
sooooo much easier, just look at the loom and it can be done or i can make/seperate and label the looms if needed for ya

you just repated what i typed almost
the wiring as such aint that much different as they both are in looms and connect to ecu's and then the engines
but the fault finding and reliabilty and fuel economy is a shite load easier
as said any problems pm me or i can make/ convert what ever ya need for ya

all depends on which management you use
either ofac or ofab frst
ofac is the easiest
as u change 1 wire on the ecu and cut 1 in the engine bay ( edise module)
job done for wiring
ofab is a bit more technical due to using a different style map sensor etc
go ofac and get the map sensor of a frst with the ofac ecu
then bolt the engine in and awy u go
im doing it in a couple of weeks to my efi xr3i

tbh its noit much harder ya need the supressor from a ofab loom though or it work work ive been told though
but then ofac is not great for big boost
ots fooking easy though ya cut pin2 on the edis module and then add the not sure on the wire swop but i can find the exact one and ya done
its really that easy

ecu is different and the map sensor, but theres a supressor on the ofab that most people forget and it affects the car when ragging it, cuts the ignition at 3k rpm and goes BANG, just the fuel thats dumped innthe zorst though
if ya get the supressor ( easy to find ya jus gotta remove the tape from the map sensor back and find a black block with 3 wires, thats it )
then ya can fit a cossie 3 bar and run what ever boost the injectors can handle

bottom end is different, head and cams are identical !!!!!
the rad is different and the icsv is mounted on the inlet manifold where on the xr3i its on the wing and remote
oh and the air charge temp sensor in the inlet manifold is different

LOL in one thread you've all gone from hanging a zetec lump in a Mk4 to a full blown Zetec Turbo.
It has been known for people to buy adaptor plates and fit the CVH inlet and exhaust manifold onto the Zetec head. A quick fiddle with the fuel pressure and maybe a chip and you'd be up and running. It's not the most advanced way to do it - but it works.
