MK1 Fiesta historic road rally car Help needed
Hi everyone.
I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone can help me out? I am building a MK1 Fiesta road rally car and need some help with brakes and suspension. The base car I am using is a 1983 1.1 she is already fitted with a mk1 XR2 engine and box. I think she has supersport brakes but can’t be certain. They are solid discs. I would like to use XR2 disc and calipers and need to know if the fit the current hubs. Also is the xr2 suspension any different than standard to fit. (Can’t use Coilovers or big brake set up. Regulations) Any help would be most appreciated Ross |
I don't think the supersport brakes were any different to the rest of the (non xr2) range at the time, non vented they were deffo the same as my 1982 1.3 ghia
I'm sure the xr2 brakes were vented 240 mm I think, they will fit on the hub i'm sure use the xr2 carrier Steve |
Thank you for the reply Steve.
You are correct. I’ve been digging and found out the same. Now trying to locate XR2 carriers. Like a needle in a haystack. Ross |
