AMS is Automotive Machine Services. I know Nick at AMS has done all the heads for the big power Devil Developments and Ignition Advantages Zetecs, the best of which made over 800bhp. Didn't know he did Phil's head as well, but makes sense.

On this link at 2.45 he says head is done by AMS and at one point because he left a bolt undone on the external Watergate on the rollers it peaked at 3.5 bar and made 800 before it lifted of the rollers..

That's not Phil Reeves mate, that's Michael Clarke lol

Both have red Mk2 Fiestas.

And Clarke dyno'd at 815bhp with no issues at one point - I was there!

Wonder how long a Zetec would last on track at that power?

These boys are at full power for 10 secs that's why they can run 30/40 psi maybe more if they want. A racing engine is totally different to a drag engine , run 40 psi through a zetec , Cossie etc on track constantly and say bye bye to your engine.
why do you think they make billet cossie , evo engines because they can handle the cycles which a race engine produces.
how many genuine zetec or cossie race engines produce 700/800bhp , not many . The only proven cossie race series engine that last and produces big number is julian Godfrey Rallycross engines and at Ł60000 you can see why lol.

cheers paul

Tbh there’s a few big powered yb’s up here that are regular at knockhill ranging from 800-950 but defo allot of strain, wasn’t sure how long a zetec would last but I think if used on track wouldn’t be as long as a yb

Ok then , smith and jones blocks which might as well be billet , I think they are treated to the same spec or close to billet with the casting process , they are also strengthened in every area that is know as a weak point on the standard engine.
so really it's not a cossie engine really it's just badged as a cossie engine , same as the millington diamond engine apart from he's called it a millington lol.

cheers paul
