Default where can i find torque settings?

Anyone know?
specifically for a 2009 focus, have a leaky drive shaft, just want to know how tight the bolt needs to be that joins hub to suspension arm?

Leaky driveshaft? Is it leaking oil from the gearbox?

Sounds like a worn oil seal or the driveshaft isn’t seated correctly. Torquing the hub nut at the other end of the driveshaft wouldn’t make any difference. But front hub nut is torqued to 199ft/lb or 270Nm.

A 2009 focus will have a 13mm headed bolt for drive shaft to wheel bearing. It's will be something like 40nm then 90 degrees.

As Jim says more than likely the drive shaft oil seal, is it the near side shaft?

Sorry dont think I've explained this very well,
I'm fairly certain it is the oil seal on the off side, to remove the shaft i was going to remove the long bolt with a nut on that joins bottom of hub to suspension arm, then pull hub towards me so shaft will come out.when i put back together what torque should i do that long bolt back up to?

You are confusing me as the suspension arm attaches the the hub/knuckle via the ball joint which the nut screws onto rather than the pinch bolt type.

Ah i see, i was assuming it would be a similar setup to my fiesta. Had a quick look think it makes sense now,
so 40nm for hub nut? + 90 degree turn
anything else to bare in mind?

Tell me the engine your car has and I will check on AD for you, you are supposed to renew the bolt.

Its 45nm then 90 degrees. (so I wasn't far off)

Your ball joint nut just wants doing up good and tight, would do it no harm to give it a squirt of blue loctite thread lock.

Once the hub is split from the driveshaft there are 2x13mm nuts for the driveshaft support bearing. Gearbox will be the standard front filling point 8mm hex from memory.
Make sure you have something below the driveshaft/gearbox for when you pull the shaft out to catch any oil that comes with it.

The MANUFACTURER OF THE VEHICLE provides this information in what is called a "Factory Service Manual"! (A factory service manual will be for one specific vehicle and can be 2000 pages long. It has information for servicing everything on the vehicle.)

You can get the factory service manual (or "service information" [SI]) at you dealer's parts department. Newer versions are on DVD or online. Be aware that older versions might be in 4 separate books total, so be sure to order all books.

That same information is available online (for a fee) at alldatadiy.com as mentioned above.

For products other than automobiles, the manufacturers of those products provide service information in a "service manual". (Like a refrigerator or air conditioner.)
