Neil Roper is the usual guy but you won't get much change from 2k so I led to believe.
|
Sure Mark or another tuner would advise.
also port size is important too big and it causes issues. |
Agree, you need to know what spec to go for based on what the engine is being built to for spec but Neil Roper can advise on that or Mark Shead (I think Mark likes the roper heads but does have his own spec)
My stroker has a Roper head and it was specced by Harvey Gibbs as he built the engine for the original owner. OOPs - my bad. Mine is a Nick Waples head...that is who Harvey uses. |
Either will be fine but they are the 2 names that I associate with big power cossies.
Spec again is a big factor. Take advice from 1 tuner or you WILL over cook the spec and end up with a non responsive engine. Building a good engine is like making a good meal you must have the correct ingredients. |

Sorry Mark, I think I mixed up my people for heads. |
Roper Developments is a good choice, doe all my heads also does them for Mountune (if not CNC) finishes heads for Prodrive and many others.
Price will depend on the condition of the donor cylinder and if you want it assembled and supply parts. Most need valve guides. Valve throat area and ports are machined, then hand blended and skimmed ready for assembling. He is very busy so try emailing him or message me and I will pass it on Steve |
Not Cylinder Head Developments that's for sure! He 'rebuilt and repaired' my cossie head. After getting it back the valve guides were badly worn (I was told they were perfect), the head was overall filthy and hadn't carried out the work I requested and paid for. Had it for months as well. When I got the head back, I questioned why the pitting on the thermostat housing face where the o ring sits hadn't been repaired as I'd paid for it (and I was told it was done) and he responded by saying 'I've got some really good stuff for that!' and handed me a tube of Kwiksteel (of which I've got loads of in my work van anyway!!)!! Total joker! I'd used them quite a few years before and the standard of work was good but seems to have gone really downhill now! so yeah, I don't recommend them at all! |
