Default R53 Mini Cooper S jcw - easily tunable?

Just taken a 2005 cooper S with jcw conversion. Thinking about using it for a while. Are these easily tunable for bigger bhp and will they take it without blowing up??

Yes, I think there is a chap who maps all of the race minis who could steer you in the right direction but worth picking up one of the mini magazines as they have loads of tuners in there who specialise. I may be wrong but Gearbox is possible limit.

My mate did put a hole in a piston on his after it was mapped but it was quite some time after.

Would tuning the Capri from standard devalue it?

Used to work on a JCW race car, it sounded ace with the exhaust on it. These are pretty tuneable I believe. There's a forum out there for them, I think it's called minitorque or something.

It depends on what you want to do with your Capri, if modifications are done well it would make it more appealing to a lot of people.
When I had my mk1 v6 essex engined Capri I did a lot of engine, exhaust and suspension modifications to it and I had no problem selling it.
If yours was a real low mileage mint car it would be different maybe.
