Default Mk1 or mk2 focus rs.....

Right I’ve have put a thread up about being in the market for a mk1 focus’s rs. I’ve seen a few in my price range and one local to me that I’m due to view.

More I keep looking though the more the I’m looking a then mk2s especially in white!

Which ones the better car? Performance, reliability etc etc

I’ve got the budget for a mk1 but a mk2 is out of my price range atm. Although in a good few months I may be able to afford one.

Still think I’ll have a mk1 but is it worth holding out for a mk2?

I like the mk1 but if it was me I would go for a mk2 focus RS.

mk2 scene is very busy and active and mountains of parts at good prices where as mk1 scene is pretty much simply ticking over as cars are being sucked up by collectors

Can only speak on the mk2s and im coming from a history of rs turbos and cossies and find the focus such a good all rounder as standard(best rs as standard?,maybe), we have a Collins CP400 conversion and got to say im so impressed how it handles the power, point and squirt no hassle at all. Also sounds great, prices seem to be coming down to as well.

I have a mk1 frs so I'm bias.. great cars and if you look after it, it should be a good investment.

If you plan on driving the car everyday, id say get the mk2.

I think the mk2 prices are staying quite firm. Look at them myself now and then.
the mk3 engine issues and bad rep some people are giving them having a knock on effect i wonder with the older focus RS commanding a strong value still?

Wouldn’t be a daily wouldn’t drive it a lot at all. Be just a summer car really. Price of mk2s have dropped slightly still 18k starting point I see. Mk1s are climbing but seeemd to have levelled recently

Mk2 allot more car for the money, don’t think mk1’s have really left a mark on the ford scene they just came along and got collectible pretty quickly where as the mk2’s are being tuned and tracked.
