Hi All,

Despite saying I did not want full harnesses again I think I need to have them if I am having a full on cage so I wondered what experiences people have had with adjustability, I had Sabelt ones before that were ok but a little fiddly to adjust.

I think I will only want 4 point but might like to add the crutch / crotch links

I had looked at 3 point with inertia reel but they seem quite rare and a little cheap, I wonder if they are more for show than proper safety?

I am probably going to order a pair of Recaro Pole Positions unless anyone else has any suggestions? I had Recaro SPG's before but they are a little thin in the hip area and whilst you can buy them in XL they become quite expensive.

I had Willans 3" ones in my Sierra, shoulder straps were very easy to adjust and i eventually got negative G straps to mount the buckle part on as when i took it off and flung it to the side it chipped the paint off inside the car lol (no trim)

Fitted Luke harnesses in the Focus. Nice wide shoulder straps and a good, solid buckle

Sabelt for me too.
Smoothness of adjusters depends if you pay for the expensive lightweight smooth action buckles.

I’ve got OMP 6 points in mine, out of a Ferrari 355 Challenge car, (a bit out of date!) but, as they were obviously too short, had the top half remade in 3” hardly ever used the crutch straps, bit fiddly for just using it on the road...

Thanks for all of this, how do the negative g straps help? Any pics to explain? Have been looking on your thread

OMP 4 point for me aswell here. Top quality product, not to heavy on the shoulders either.

Also road legal ECE approved, not FIA approved. think its 2 inch belt.

Thanks RSmark84, I will have a look at those too then. I had 3 inch before but wondered if 2 would be better on the road.

I really like the concept of the 3 point with inertia real but they look to be cheap and probably not fit for purpose with a big cage to bang my head on.

Ex F1 driver, Willie Green used to teach me a bit on track and he said "you don't know pain until you break a shin bone on the bottom of a roll cage".

We use crow 3" belts at work and they look really nice usually in a 4 point set up.

But they are from the states so not sure about regs.

Had a look through my photo bucket and no pics of my set up - sorry.
Basically I fitted the buckle to the negative g strap, 1 bolt fixing through the floor pan, then the lap belts fitted to cage mount and gearbox tunnel, the shoulder strap looped around the harness bar on the cage.

They were Good, easy to adjust the shoulder straps, the lap belt not so easy but once set didn't really need adjusting.
