Default Ford Focus 5th Gear

Sadly my faith gear has demised and would like to know how to remove the selector arm? Is it as simple as unscrew? And which direction? As both gears are stripped how does the drive train gear come off? There is a circlip but this must be toothed behind? Any advice is always appreciated from people who had experience!

Undo the torx bolt holding the selector fork on to the selector shaft. The arm and the synchro assembly will then slide off. Then remove the 2 circlips and pray both gears come away without the need for heat/pullers etc.

there is no torx on the focus box, there is a pin in the fork that needs knocking out, two circles off both gears and the (hub hear) will come off easy, maybe not the other!

Thanks for the replies, I was expecting a torx bolt but was surprised at seeing a flat head screw? There does not seem to be a pin holding the selector on and this seems to point to the screw holding the fork onto the selector shaft? I just need to clarify this before i use an impact driver on the flat head and sustain some unrecoverable damage!
My next mission is to see if ford stock these gears or source a second hand gearbox to either get the parts from or completely change the gearbox!
Is it common to sustain this damage on the gear? and am I just hanging on to the easy fix rather than the correct fix?

Not that screw you can see on the top, do NOT put an impact driver to that!!
Assuming the box is still in the car, if you were to lie under the end of it you'll see a pin holding the brass selector fork to the selector shaft (the bit with the flathead slot you dont touch)

Edit: These gearboxes aren't great but i dont know of any standard out the box Focus's that has fooked 5th like that. Either contamination or just very bad luck.
I've killed 5th on many BC (aware this isnt BC but close enough) boxes, replaced them and the boxes have lived many miles onwards so worth replacing if cheaper than a new box.

There will be variants floating about, but if you open 9/10 boxes, chances are they'll have the same tooth count 5th gear
