Will it be as cringeworthy as the last series I wonder? I can't see them competing with the current series of the grand tour!

this series of TGT has been a bit hit and miss, the jags were cetainly the hit, but their celebrity thing is almost certainly a miss, i saw the first one, then goldberg and the penn and teller one but the rest have been so crap i've skipped them in their entirety

but they are miles ahead of the borefest that i consider top gear to have become, nearly half the show taken up by talking to "guests"
i struggled to watch more than a few episodes of the last series and then gave up

Yes it is available if you look around for it. Or sign up for a free 30 day trial of Amazon prime, watch it all then cancel your free trial.

top gear used to be the only thing worth watching on the bbc even though it had to much over scripted nonsense in it. now its just drivel from from a team of randoms with no on screen chemistry.
I'm glad I don't waste money on a tv licence at my own house.

Watched the new Top Gear tonight, I did'nt get the first part of the show with the 3 of them driving the 3 new cars on the dry dusty dirt roads in the U.S. Who in reality would use 3 top notch cars almost like rally cars? What did it prove?
The best thing about the show tonight was that when they did the relay challenge against the 1960s Ford GT40 it was still faster!!
Early days maybe it will get better.

It was pretty awful. Looks like from the season preview at the start, most of it was filmed in the us, do maybe they are going American like wheeler dealers?

I quite enjoyed some bits of it, As mentioned all these shows getting dumbed down for the american audience is getting annoying. Its bloody annoying that they bastardise the English language as it is.

Sadly everywhere is going down that route, Using American spelling and date format. Even Digital Spy has gone down the retarded 'month then day' route and calling 'series-seasons'.

I had a open mind but they simply tried too hard to replicate the old trio, harris should stick to doing road tests and not speaking and rory is more suited for cbbc rather than a car show, apart from the hit chat up line "how you doing" matt is a one trick pony

I use to like Chris Harris but since joining Top Gear he's turned into a right irritating twat.
That Rory bloke is clearly there to tick the BBC boxes because his presenting skill are fucking awful! And Matt Le Blanc is equally annoying and cringeworthy.
Absolute waste of time, won't be watching it again.

yup, it was pretty terrible

they took something that had a warmth and charm and a certain level of charisma and turned it into a robot

i like matt, but you can tell he's miles ahead of the others when it comes to experience in front of the camera, but he still not as fresh as he was at the start and he's the best part of the show

rod brydon is someone who i normally like, but i skipped that bit of the show too

it's gone from something we would watch as a family on a sunday night, even with the rude bits, because essentially it was just 3 blokes being blokes

now it's turned into some sort of "tv show" with "added expectations" and "you must be serious", i've laughed more at a funeral

so yes, i won't be watching again, but i said that half way through the last series as well and still wasted an hour of my life watching this

watching 3 blokes clowning around having fun is not really entertainment for me, Matt the twat is okay but you can keep the other two bellends !

04.03.18 episode was another Americanised episode, Very boring featuring Chris and Matt looking for the Myth, Bigfoot. They used a few 'toys' in aid of searching it down.

Lee Mack was the guest(the most boring bit of TG) and Rory was barely in the episode, he had some pointless 'filler', But in general it was like he'd been forgotten about.

Next week sees the show head to Japan, So here's hoping the show will return to its English routes.

Agree, the first 2 episodes have been boring and too much 'america'. As said the BBC bottled it and should revamped/new format the show when Jezza and Co left.

Absolutely spot on. After the maclaren test the rest was shit. Pretty much fast forwarded through most of the rest especially the celebrity bit.

Watched the second show. They seem to be filming the same shit dirt roads to try out the new Mclaren, Why do they think we are interested in seeing a Ł200k + supercar as an off road vehicle? Much better when they took it to the European race circuit and compared it to the Ł850k Super Mclaren which only ended up being a half second quicker for an extra Ł600k!! After that it was the "lets find bigfoot " rubbish!

My ideal top gear would be a mix of the crazy adventures and reviewing and testing cars people can actually afford to drive

The old adventures where good but my favourite was when they had a budget of a few grand to buy a car to do a series of challenges like taking the saph cossie to Germany. Celebs don’t interest me in the slightest, half the clowns they used to get on top gear didn’t even like cars so what’s the fucking point of having them on the show lol

I liked the McLaren feature. I don't care how much more the p1 costs, when my numbers come up, sod a house I will be buying one!

Rest of it was fairly boring though, thought it was supposed to be a car show?

I wouldn't want to see basic models being tested. performance versions , like bmw m's , merc amg, audi rs's and such like plus the exotic never in your lifetime stuff as well.

Fuck me, it's just the same old complaints

It's an entertainment show involving cars. If you want to see serious car reviews, go on YouTube, there are thousands of them. If TG did 'proper' reviews, it would be cancelled in no time, as most people aren't interested. Not a great surprise that it has American influence, given that it's a global product for the BBC either.

I thought it was ok to be honest. They need to replace Rory, as he's crap, but the other two are gelling slowly.

Now this is what TG should be, So much better, Returning to its English roots. Except the 'uncarmanly' bit where they totally ruined 2 very good examples of Japanese classic sports cars. I didn't much think of Chris Harris muttering about Swindon, Nothing wrong with the place... Its one of the most important Town in the world and its about time people dropped the slating/demeaning of it. But yes the Civic Type R is a bit rubbish and ugly.
