Its no fun at all, eh? I mean, £110 to insure a modified Fusion, £55 for a 160 brake Mad Max, and £45 for an FZR600 full comp is a diabolical liability.
Our main car is motability, so that's not my problem. Can't even bring myself to clean it.

I've never understood people that moan about the running of cars ..ive never ever run a car on a shoe string or ever had the problem of worrying about fuel prices ..if you ain't happy with the deal you're getting in life or other things then change ..it really is that simple .

That's why I stick to bikes for my real performance fix. A sub 10 second bike my wallet can handle. A 10 second car on Bakelite tyres and sawdust brake pads, or a luxo barge puking undiluted cancer out the tail pipe is just stupid.

Like these people who buy Diesels. The tight bastards lol.
Im not bothered about mpg either just stick the fuel in and drive the fooker. I also like my cars to be right too. Its my responsibility to look after my car.

and i couldn't tax the mondeo because the dvla computer wouldn't accept the numbers they'd sent me so had to go to the post office to get them to do it, so an afternoon wasted
and i don't even USE the mondeo, it's a "just in case we need more space" and it's in bits at the moment because 'm sticking in the factory satnav and fancy seats etc
the bentley went from £5k the first year with a £5k excess to a more sensible £700 the following with a £500 excess so i was ecstatic, even though, again, i wasn't paying
my only gripe now is that a newer car will need more complicated servicing stuff rather than a home grown oil and filter change, with the occasional pollen and air filter swap

I can see that costing you a fortune when fuel is already stupidly expensive, example you can generally tax a car for 20 quid a month, the extra fuel cost would cost way more than that I bet.

THE REAL DEAL
winners and losers, luckily i am a winner as i hardly use my cars but if you use your car a lot you are a loser. trouble is after 10 years since introduction the government are the losers as the extra on the fuel is not replacing the cost of the road tax as cars are more efficient so now the bastards are looking for more ways to tax us.

i've got a free buspass through work so has the mrs
but still, back then that was a good months wages, now it's 15% of my annual take home
i had that back in the day mate, spend spend spend and just go and work more to pay for it all, but now i'm older and supposedly wiser, i don't want to spend all my life working and miss out the family time
got everything i need to pay for working a 5 day week now so i'm happy

3 tax 2 insurance is good going at £1300 tbf, my yearly tax alone is over £1600 on 3 private vehicles, I don't mind, if I couldn't afford them I wouldn't have them simple as that for me
