Kev

I believe the white 3dr and black RS500 belonged to a guy called Stephen up in Aberdeen, and the moonstone one belonged to a guy who is well known on here, but has emigrated to Oz. Think these guys are good mates and he was storing the moonstone one for him.

The white one has been recovered I believe.

Fooking horrible news it takes the fun out of owning these cars. Worrying about some twat damaging them or steeling them

RSmark84 31-07-2017 09:45 AM

Website says they were stolen over a period over a year between July 2014 and July 2015???

Scrap that, Stupid reporter has used the wrong date format. ANA DA SILVA, What an idiot! So 14th July to 15th July.

Lambchop 20-11-2017 03:16 AM

Thanks for the concern guys. Yes the moonstone car was mine. I only found this thread after some spineless cunt making some tags on another thread.

I was back in Scotland in July and was to start the prep work for shipping. I arrived at the house after the cars were found missing and then the police showed up and took us to the white car which was dumped close to the village on a tiny back road.

Nothing has ever been heard of the other two :(

I don't expect to see it again so have replaced it with a car bought in Australia.

It's always worth more than you get. You cant replace sentimental value of a car that was first bought by me in 2001!! :wall:

I have had my 1990 2wd Saff for 23 years and although I have an agreed value which would cover the cost of replacing it I would be gutted to lose it!! I have spent quite a bit on modifying and maintaining it and a replacement would never be the same!
Where do you live in Australia? I used to live in Adelaide where I owned a modified 3.0V6 Aussie made Capri and an ex London to Sydney Cortina 1600e
rally car with a modified crossflow.

I guess owning a 3 Door Cosworth is still fairly unusual in Adelaide? Last time I visited my Brother-in-Law we went to a big car show and there were no 3 doors and just one Saff. He is in the Ford Owners Club and has a classic Ford Falcon Ute from the sixties. Are you in the club or do you have any mates with English Fords? Must be fun showing the Aussie performance cars how well your little 2.0litre engined Cosworth goes!!!

Yes most people don't know the car. It's not been out really because I need to get it 'engineered' to be road legal which is a twat :tiff:

I know of 3 other cars that are all moonstone. One of those owners has a mercury saff. They are nice and rare.

I'm in the local RSOC SA which is a bit shit as it's any old small ford not RS cars only. I've just joined RSOC Australia too.

I have a Focus RS too so spent the last year getting back in to car events :king:

The rules on modifying cars and imported cars in South Australia are pretty strict compared to here which as you said is a pain. What exactly do you have to do to your 3 door before it is road legal? When I was there last time the Police were stopping some cars coming out of the car show if they thought they didnt look standard and checking them over. If they had non standard modifications they got a defect sticker which gives you a short time to get the modifications off and get it re-checked by the Police.
Have you been to any events at the Mallala race circuit or to the hill climbs at Angaston? I think there are still drag racing events at the old Adelaide International Raceway Circuit as well.
Are you thinking of doing anything to your 3 door to help it cope with the very hot weather you get there, bigger high flow aluminium radiator, pre-turbo cooler, oil cooler etc?
