Default 2wd cosworth oil pumps, which one to use??

Just bought another saph Cossie yesterday in bits, engine needs a bit of putting back together but it's all got forged pistons and steel rods, there is a new oil pump with it. Problem is it's a burton one, and aside from them being a bunch of wankers who have messed me about majorly in the past I've heard they're pumps are shit?

Can anyone tell me what the best pump to go for is? You hear so many people saying one is good but then others say it's bad.

Its a very expensive bottom end and I don't want problems with it like my last saph which ended up getting broken because of oil pump failure

Don't think new ones have been available for a long time, and finding a mint 2nd hand one isn't easy

Steer clear of the Burton's ones. I had a brand new one for mine. Engine builder tried to blow through the channel in the lid that feeds the spray bar and it was completely blocked, even trying to blow it through with a 150 psi airline. Swapped it for a genuine Cosworth lid and it was perfect.
Burtons gave me some baloney about there being a pressure relief valve in there, but the builder said in all the years he'd been building engines, he'd never come across anything like that.
Shop around and get a decent one, not worth taking the chance with your nice fresh engine

Problem is if you have a faulty pump and it fucks your engine people will just say it was a problem in the build
