they get very upset over people potentially selling stuff without them getting their fees. I got my account locked down for arranging a sale with someone as opposed to them using the buy it now feature.
they emailed me a copy of my messages between the buyer and highlighted all the terms and conditions I'd breached.

your not alone as they also use this as a way of forcing people to obtain and pay for trader status

That's bollocks, eBay are such cowboys. They have no interest in private sellers these days, it's just about the big companies advertising on there, who earn them the most money!

eBay are really getting on top of loosing out on fees, I had a discussion for about 30 minutes and made the first person put the phone down

It all comes down to trying to hide from fees, if you set yourself up so you pay the correct fees then your ok, I even got black marked for the seller not being honest

I got told I couldn't hand over my phone number once an auction had finished to arrange collection and that was one of my reasons for suspended account, she said I should of got a deposit on an item that sold for about a fiver they never did explain how to overcome the issue and the second person had no answer either

Recently had my account hacked
Someone advertised a RRS autobiography on my behalf
Was on Ł37k with 6 days to go, had people messaging me about it too
Rung eBay while we were having a family day out to sort it out
They cancelled it all...
The following month they've charged me listing fees for the f@cking thing so I've rung them again!

I've also recently sold Some Vectra C GSi front and rear brake calipers
Advertised them as cash on collection only...
The cabbage that won them...

Wanted them sending Germany!!! Retard!!!
So I cancelled that and the C4nt left me back feedback!!!

I've had to ring eBay again to sort this out...
I'll only buy off eBay now, selling is a pain in the a4se!!!

I've made around 175 sales in the last 18 months or so, and only had problems with three of them, one of which resolved itself (buyer claimed it didn't arrive, so I posted out a replacement only for the buyer to then tell me it had arrived, so he returned the replacement), another I had to swallow (buyer aid it didn't arrive so I had to refund) and the third one was a paypal dispute over an "unauthorised purchase" which they didn't have a leg to stand on as I had proof of postage. Never had a ad pulled or account suspended.

I've got my account restricted for sending my phone number to get more pictures of a tool box. I did ask how much out of eBay as well and got another telling off. They must now read your messages.

They're getting very hot on this, obviously not making enough money these days with their outrageous fees! I've just returned from a suspension. I think people might just get fed up with them one of these days.

They will loose out to folk selling on Facebook just like car forums will as you don't have to pay.

I've literally just found out something else!

If you get some of these offers like 100 free listings a month (i.e. you don't pay a listing fee, you just pay end fees if you sell), if the item doesn't sell you have the opportunity to relist it and E-BAY makes a recommendation of what you should do to try and get it sold (usually selling it cheaper). If you take their reccommendation when you're on a listing deal like this the listing fees are still free, but if you don't they charge you the listing fees as normal as if you weren't on a deal!
I think they're taking the mick now to be honest! It's really gone down bigtime since I started using it many moons ago.
You get virtually no bids on anything anyway and when you do sell you get charged a fortune!

I have had arguments with people on here asking me to buy stuff and pay via PayPal gift, I think eBay must be fed up with people trying to get it for free. My friend sells cars and once sold he amends the listing for another, it is just cheating the system and that is effectively stealing.

''Tis a tricky one as there are so many scamming dodgy adverts out there and I'm thankful that eBay are doing their bit to keep us safe etc. But I also feel they take this p1ss on so many things and change so very much for their services.

I got my wrists slapped for a phone number exchange, and yes we did do a deal without fees so fleabay lost out - no wonder they are trying to clamp down on it

I think they are doing it so all communication is carried out through eBay messaging. Therefore if there is a problem with an item or delivery etc then eBay have a record of all conversation should a claim be made.

I know eBay have to protect themselves, but in past when I've done cash on collection I've swapped phone numbers incase of problems/delay/get lost, not everyone has a smart phone!
