Default What engine is this?

Looking at buying this car with this engine in, told it was a 1.8 orion Zetec, any help would be good.

It was engine swapped so any idea exactly which one or which year ect would help as apparently all it needs is an injector and battery to run and I'd like to have them in advance when the car gets here

Its a 1.8 zetec silvertop, no idea what one as its the ecu and cams that tell you but......... these engines are pennies to pickup so I wouldnt worry

mk5/6 escorts from Mreg up to Xreg

Yes they can be turbo'd easily and cheaply a friend was running one on standard internals with a decomp plate and abused the shit out of it for 2yrs with no issues 280bhp from memory. Blacktops are better if you want a proper turbo conversion, if your going to run NA you want to find an xr3i 130psi ecu and think you need the pats ignition ring and key too

How cheap are we talking to turbo, Because my MK2 has cost a fortune going from 225-340bhp lol

Depends on you/time/patience etc cost my mate Ł500-600ish,

1.8 silvertop engine
decomp plate
headgaskets
orange rover injectors
home made water rail for rwd
sump had to be tinkered with because he was going rwd
T3 garret turbo
rst exhaust manifold
rs1800 efi inlet
megasquirt
other bits and bobs

My friend fails to believe you can do this conversion this cheap, Especially with the prices of turbos/turbo pipework ect

His view was the turbo couldn't be that cheap, or if it was it was an ebay special lol?

also if you look on the side of the throttle body a 130ps will have 55 stamped on the flange, usually the left, the 105ps has 38 iirc, also the 130ps will have a HO inlet

you need a loom and ecu from an xr3i/orion Si 130ps, if you can find one from a 92/93 model they are non pats so it would just be a case of joining looms, I have the wiring diagram somewhere

2nd hand and not from ebay if u want a rebuilt 1 ur theres a t3 stage 3 on here for Ł200

Will have to have a look when it gets here. Whats it missing btw that goes to the inlet? I know mk2 ST engines but no idea on these older ones, lol

I was meant to say MAF sensor is hiding by brake servo too, that goes on then pipe to inlet

Is it a single coil pack or seperate like in my mk2 ST? and I need 1 injector aswell apparently, Where would I get all of this from, So the single injector, the coil pack, the ht leads and the airbox pipe? I've got no idea what to search for on google lol

Yes mate its a single coil pack, the one with a larger oval shaped plug not a smaller square one, I have one in my boot I can take a pic of and whatsapp you if you need just pm me your number, Injector wise you will have to wait and see which engine you have
