Justs asked why they say insurance starts at 180quid and mine is a lot more?
Replie was its based on driving history claims postcode etc and mot?
I said mot whats that all about?
If cars fail the mot more then they are at risk.
So basically if you drive a shitter and it fails every year not only it cost to put right but your insurance goes up for everyone....
Hence why the new focus RS costs peanuts in comparision to older stuff....
Who knows eh what next... i asked if all insurance companys take this into account the answer is yes.
This was Aviva.....

That's daft, if it fails an mot and then the offending part is replaced it is as good as new...and no more likely to crash due to some silly failure....sometimes we need to go back off grid.

They'll dream up any excuse to try and extort money from us. Bunch of dirty corrupt lowlife fuckers, same as the government.
How they've a brass neck to make some of the claims they do is beyond me, yet there is no requirement for them to provide evidence to support them etc.

I know someone that got charged a cancellation fee of 74 pounds to cancel the automtic renewal of their policy because it was half the price to take out a new policy with the same company which they had done online .

The MOT issue is not really a rip off, it is just that more and more big companies work off info in public domain coupled with algorithms to determine price...I suspect they have some evidence that supports their theory....just feels totally unfair and illogical to us.
My Range Rover is around £1800 per yr to insure and only if I had a tracker, the reason is that lots went missing due to key cloning BUT My car has had the factory recall to delete the key clone weakness from the ECU but I am still paying for their past experience and losses.

Hi,
I've never come across an insurer using MOT data as a rating factor. They may check it to validate approximate annual mileage but I think that's about it,
Regards,
Dan.

All introduced to cause accidents. Also the amount of people distracted by their fucking sat nav and not watching the road is crazy.
Cars imo are safer but the idiots driving are not.
