Would a 2.8i v6 ford engine fit? Cheap enough from the breakers.

Didnt really specify a budget, or goal, or any details ?

They do cheaper ones too...but may as well start big.

I was on a site where a guy was selling a Viper v10 engine box and ecu. Cheap enough too. That's tempting also.

Many conversions have been done all over the world, but what you can or cannot do depends on your abilities, your budget, your end goal etc etc etc etc

LS400 type V8 is a very good option, comes with an auto trans etc. But many have fitted manual boxes too.
Again depends on needs, budget etc etc

Collins in the US make various adaptor kits for manuals

Yeah thats the one I bought, for another Ł900 you get a pre programmed ecu, electronic throttle, wiring harness, lambdas etc, I obviously bought that too.

The Soarer engine is the one you want rather than the LS400 as it has the right sump, I actually have a really nice one of those lying around...

theres so much choice if i was on a budget i would use a rover v8 you can get various adaptor plates to use a few ford g boxes to renault 25 ones the v8 is istant power/torque without tuning.if i was throwing money at it yb all the way this will vertually fit straight in use a t5 you might have to alter g box tunnal. cossie rear end im getting all steamed up just thinking about it. i see you live not to far from me do you own a certain breakers yard near st day

You dont need a cossie rear end. Just a big bearing atlas axle. And the tunnel needs the hole enlarging to make it bigger.
