can any track car guys advise me on the following

do you run with a thermostat?


do you run your fans off a switch or stat or both ?

Not a track car, but a rally car, yes to the stat, ecu controls fans on and off.

Thermostatic fan switch will do just the same.

I would defo put a switch in for the fans.

Its better to be safe than sorry.

Thermostat - yes
Fans - Standard sensor to switch on and overide in cockpit

I have also made shrouding where I can to get maximum air flow through the radiator

Got the "normal" temperature stat in mine,fan is on sensor and have installed a manual switch as well.

My race car runs a stat (all cosworth 4x4's have to ) I have a msd rad switch in the rad with an over ride switch in the car, just in case
