mk4 escort rs turbo injection issues...
hi everyone,
i'm writing on behalf of a friend of mine.
sorry for the vague infos, this is what i remember of what he told me, and at that moment i already was at the second and not last beer etc...
he owns a mk4 escort 1.6 cvh turbo, it should be the RS one iirc, (donno exactly the spec, around 130hp).
it's got a ke-jetronic injection management. the cause of the issue, (again iirc), is a faulty diaphragm valve. haven't understand if it is a fuel accumulator or a pressure differential valve, very rare to be found in good conditions\reasonable prices downhere.
however he decided to replace the whole management with a delta hf 8v, a sobstitution which downhere is around 300eur/260gbp w\o wiring, and which has already done succesfully.
my opinion is he can find something better...
talking about alternatives, i suggested him a megasquirt ecu, which should be also easy to be set up with a win-laptop... (around 400eur\350gbp).
i know in here there is a lot of know-how about, so...
without aiming big power and keeping the spec to standard (around 130hp)...
what are the alternatives to his problem (ecu replacement), without going too far from these prices?
any advice will be really appreciated, (silly ones too )
thanks for reading.
